John Le is a management consultant at PositiveAlpha Consulting. He works with senior leadership to develop strategy, drive operational improvement and evaluate capital investments. Prior to PositiveAlpha Consulting, John held multiple roles at top tier companies including Kaiser Permanente, Ernst & Young and Boeing to name a few. John holds a MBA in Finance from California State University of Long Beach and BS in Computer Information System from DeVry University. He is also a California-licensed Certified Public Accountant (CPA). John has been involved with Project MotiVATe since 2013 as a volunteer and now a Board member. In his free time, John enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He is a fan of Formula 1 racing and MotoGP racing.[/expand]
[expand title=”Maria Van, Vice Chair“]
Maria Van does healthcare marketing for Hospice Touch. She also heads their Vietnamese program, supporting Vietnamese patients and their families through the difficult end of life journey. She has more than a decade of experience in business development and marketing. She is currently building and maintaining relationships with referral sources in the hospital and nursing facility setting. Maria also is responsible for community outreach and gaining exposure for her company in the Vietnamese community. Maria received her undergraduate business degree at California State University of Long Beach in 2009. She is currently working on her Master’s degree at the University of La Verne and will be completing her MBA in March 2016. Maria enjoys traveling, hiking and going to country concerts in her spare time.[/expand]
[expand title=”Scott Iseri, Secretary“]
Scott Iseri is an attorney at Children’s Law Center, a non-profit, public interest law firm that represents children’s in dependency court. He uses his experience of working with youth to represent neglected and abused children in the Los Angeles foster care system. Prior to CLC, Scott developed programs that provided youth with leadership development, academic, employment and mental health services for the Orange County Asian and Pacific Islander Community Alliance (OCAPICA). From 2008-2010, he served as the External Program Director for Project MotiVATe, and has previous served as a mentor and coordinator. Scott holds a JD from Whittier Law School and a BA in Political Science and Psychology & Social Behavior from UC Irvine. Scott enjoys eating fried carbs, watching movies and playing basketball. He is a fan of the Lakers and Dodgers.[/expand]
[expand title=”Chris Nguyen, Treasurer“]
Chris Nguyen is an attorney by profession with a wide range of experience in civil litigation, bankruptcy, administrative hearing and real estate law. His real estate practice focused on representing
consumers in landlord-tenant eviction defense, foreclosure defense, predatory lending and other mortgage related laws. Initially representing clients at IHSS administrative hearings, Chris has begun to
emphasize more focus on representing minors with special needs such as autism and down syndrome. Chris attended the University of Southern California (USC) and received a B.S. in Business Administration in 2005. In 2008, Chris obtained his Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from New York Law School and was admitted to practice in California. Cal State Bar # 259922.[/expand]
[expand title=”Darren Crosby“]
Darren Crosby was born in England and is presently working for a global leader in the development and manufacture of performance based coatings. His current position is as Project Manager Engineer, developing and manufacturing equipment and processes for the optical, aerospace and specialty coating industries. He also has vast experience in general and mechanical contracting, facilities management, commercial and residential construction. He previously served in the United States Air Force in a medical role. Darren has a BS in Industrial Technology, a Master’s of Science Degree from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo and is currently pursuing his Master’s Degree in Business Administration. He is married to Natalie Nguyen; who started Project Motivate back in 1996, when it was originally known as Camp for Youth. Darren has been attending Project Motivate events and graduation commencements since 2008, been volunteering since 2013, and now a PM Board Member. In his free time, Darren enjoys Traveling and Camping with his wife and their active children.[/expand]
[expand title=”Bill Tran“]
Bill Tran is a business attorney and litigator at the business law firm of Friedman, Stroffe & Gerard, P.C. located in Irvine. His law practice focuses on complex business and corporate litigation in federal and state courts. Prior to joining Friedman, Stroffe & Gerard, Bill spent over 10 years litigating high-stakes business disputes and trials at the international law firm of Greenberg Traurig, LLP. Bill is also committed to furthering the needs of the Vietnamese American business and entrepreneur community, and to connecting Vietnamese American youth with the resources and support they need to achieve academic and life success and to realize their potential as future leaders. Bill recently served as the chapter president of the Vietnamese Strategic Ventures Network, a non-profit group dedicated to Vietnamese American entrepreneurs, technology companies and venture capitalists in Orange County. Early in his career, Bill also worked as a grant writer and youth counselor for the non-profit agency Vietnamese Community of Orange County, Inc., where he obtained over $600,000 in grant funding to target family and youth, mental health and minority business development projects. At VNCOC, Bill was also one of the founders and contributors to the Youth Commission and Camp for Youth (early predecessors of Project MotiVATe), which targeted at-risk youth through peer mentoring programs. Bill received his undergraduate degree in English Literature from UCLA in 1995, and his law degree from the University of California at Berkeley (Boalt Hall) in 2000.[/expand]

Jimmy is dedicated to working with youth in many capacities. Outside of Project MotiVATe, he is a WIA Case Manager at the Orange County Asian Pacific Islander Community Alliance where he works with youth who have various barriers to employment. He is also an organizer of Common Ground, an open mic series that promotes art and expression through the lens of young Vietnamese-Americans in Orange County. Jimmy received his BA in Business Administration from Cal State Fullerton. As Program Director, Jimmy’s mission is to support an organization that strives to continually improve its services to the Vietnamese-American community and its youth.[/expand]
[expand title=”Quoc Quan Le, Co-Mentorship Coordinator“]
Quoc Quan grew up in Oshkosh, WI. He graduated from the University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee in 2012 with a bachelor’s degree in Film, Video, and New Genres. He moved out to California the following year in hopes of one day working in the entertainment industry. He currently works with the Boys & Girls Club of Westminster and does freelance videography and photography on the side.[/expand]
[expand title=”Kristine Louie, Co-Mentorship Coordinator“]
Kristine is currently working as a Finance Manager at a Landscape Architect company in Irvine. She got involved with PM through friends at UCI’s Vietnamese American Coalition, who at the time were the Program Directors of PM looking for a Coordinator. That was 10 years ago and since then she’s found a passion for volunteering with the community and working with youth. In her spare time she enjoys being active, currently running half marathons, trying new food, meeting new people, and being challenged in life.[/expand]

Margaret is currently working as a project consultant for a large Avionics company. She has been in the field for more than five years. On her spare time, she likes to plan events for her friends and family. When she isn’t busy planning the next fun thing to do, she can be found at the next dining establishment on her list of 427 (and counting) places to try.[/expand]
[expand title=”Jon Dang, Study Hall Coordinator“]
Jon is currently working as a professional with Mazda North American Operations. He has been with PM for a little over a year and has felt that PM brought back his passion for volunteering with the community. Outside of work and volunteering, he enjoys any activities that has to do with nature. Coming from a military background, he finds comfort when he spends time outside. His goals with PM has been very simple: to get to know the youth a little better, one child at a time, and share with them his personal experiences. He hopes that by sharing his experiences with them, they might ask questions and find answers to help them on their own path.[/expand]
[expand title=”Tommy Vo, Administrative/Finance Coordinator“]
Tommy Vo is currently attending the California State University of Long Beach working towards his degree in accounting. When he graduates, he hopes to pursue a California Public Accountant (CPA) license. This will be his first year with PM and looks forward to helping out everyone as much as he can. Aside from school and work, he enjoys spending his time reading and hiking.[/expand]
[expand title=”Lisa Tran, Community Engagement Coordinator“]
In addition to her current role as a coordinator for PM, Lisa is a Program Assistant at Children and Family Futures. This year she hopes to increase PM’s visibility in the community through outreach and social media. She graduated from UC Irvine in 2013 with a B.A. in Psychology and minors in Spanish and Conflict Resolution. She has years of experience volunteering for many different youth-serving organizations and is passionate about working with youth in any capacity. In her spare time she enjoys crafting, learning new recipes, and cuddling with her dog. She aspires to continue her education and earn a Master’s degree in a field that will allow her to gain further experience in the youth development field.[/expand]

Jacqueline is a graduate from UCLA with a degree in Political Science. She currently works at Pacific Life, in Life Division. In a 2 year time span, she has devoted her time to being a mentor to the students and is taking the role as Gala Coordinator this year. Jacqueline has a great passion for mentoring youth and improving the community. All in all, Jacqueline wants to be the support system they need and build a strong foundation for their future. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, cooking and hanging out with family and friends.[/expand]
